Description	The Taiwan-based CHMER EDM, a leading supplier in the EDM (electrical-discharge machine) industry, confirmed recently that its newest CNC (computer numerically controlled) machining center with a linear motor is scheduled for launch in the third quarter of this year, poised to further boost its position in the line. The company is Taiwan`s first or world`s second manufacturer of wire cutting machines with linear motors. To ride on the growing trend for linear motor-built EDMs, the company has successfully worked out Taiwan`s first homemade linear motor, which has been set for mass production, making CHMER the world`s second supplier, following Japan-based Sodick, of mold manufacturing equipment with built-in linear motors.
